It was Ryan Nelson who explained to me, looking across the Basin to Avonport, that he was making a drawing of a Dike Barn, which was a maintenance shed, and not a barn full of dykes. And it was his wife who explained to me the delicate nature of that distinction. And then my whole perception of things slid slightly further to the left, making a few new inches in the Rockies perhaps, or backing dangerously toward the San Andreas Fault.
