The momentum has been great, but even looking back on season 1 and 2 there was a lot of melodramatic filler episodes that we had to endure. I think there has been a lot of closure, but a lot more has opened up (time travel) too. I think I heard the producers mention that four-toed foot in their podcast, maybe I am making that up, but I think it is rumoured to reappear in the finale. The last episode seemed to dispell any hell/ purgatory/death theories. The producers mentioned that “Capricorn One” movie while talking about Naomi’s claim that they had found flight 815 with everyone dead. Its about a fake landing on Mars that Nasa orchestrates, Feat OJ Simpson. WE HATE JACK! They were originally planning to kill him in the first episode, so hopefully he will die sometime soon. I think they have gotten enough use out of him.

We’ve had some good momentum the last few episodes. I was really hoping for 24 more shows, ending next spring, to start to get some damn closure, find out about that 4 toed warrior’s foot, what the Others were building on Hydra Island, what turned Juliet from a sensitive woman into a pit viper, whether the characters are all dead, etc. I fear the momentum will be spent over such a long time span.
We already hate Jack–will we have to go back to liking him?

Im kindof into it ending in 2010.. I dont think it is “dragging it out”. It is placing me in a begining middle and end. The 16 episode season does indeed blow, that is like loosing a month and a half from each season. I just watched “Capricorn One”, it makes me think that there will be a reporter character in the final seasons. JMB and i discussed the possibility of an east coaster setting up a live video feed so that us over here can watch at 7. It might even be cool for some west coasters or central people to do it too so that NN rebroadcasts each episode 3 or 4 times.

I didn’t know about Lostpedia, thanks. I had been looking at Wikipedia and IMDb.
ABC’s decision to drag the show out for three more years of 16 shows each really sucks.

The tattoos havent changed. The show has only discussed the meaning of the chinese symbols. I had never noticed the 5 before either. I read on lostpedia that he really has the 5 in real life and it is actually in reference to party of 5.

Those of us watching last night noted the tattoo closeup but no one got that reference.
We were speculating that the tattoo had changed since the last closeup.
I do not remember seeing the five before.
