Maybe it was just the examples I listened to. Like fast progressive house. Also hard dance sounds silly.

I looked up hardstyle on beatport, the website that offers .wavs for sale to DJs to be loaded into Traktor and the like. It doesn’t have its own genre listing. A search under artists and release titles pulled up a number of titles with “hardstyle” in them. Most were under “hardcore” and sounded a lot like this track (but not as good). Some were categorized under trance or something called “hard dance.” Eew.
