When you close your eyes and see colors is it an after-image or is it light shining through your eyelid & skin

Our eyes have a mechanism that automatically adjusts light sensitivity, this allows us to see detail in both shadows and bright light. The receptors in the back of the eye take a little time to return to normal and the consequence of this is a faint after image that you can see with your eyes closed.

    Neither, it's your imagination and memory mixing new ideas for you. I've noticed this a lot, myself. Get them down for some interesting images on canvas.
