Does having a crummy day-job help stimulate your creativity?

All artists, actors, and creative people usually end up having jobs in restaurants, bars, etc. So do you think these experiences usually help people be more creative?

No, it just helps pay your bills. Many other people work in these places and are not very creative at all. The experiences may provide some material for the creative person to use in his/her ultimate career, but the job itself isn't the source of the creativity (working at Mc Donald's or Burger King won't stimulate creativity/make you more creative).
