  • Subject
= HUN JUNK SPEAKS A ITS COMPUTER =

  • RESULTS
Vision of a part seen by a computer the image is captured, by chance according to a time cut and chopped by the computer contrary to photography, it is not the human eye which chosen, but the processor of a machine which projects the image through the network internationnal.

  • The quality (or no quality) of the image the blur had with the pixelisation of the image goes contrary to television and from the conventional images "well done" of which the goal is our reality.
On the contrary the image of the webcam returns a quality of pixtures which adds with dimensions "hand made" and makes of it a series of Uniques images which questions its medium by manufacturing its own scene.

  • As in painting ,video, each artist questions the medium which it uses;
Webcam takes part in this interrogation which is this new technique related to the computer.
Interrogation of its specificity through the network, possibility of being seen throughout the world...
and his Peeping Tom report/ratio and exibitionnist (reference with lives show of the erotic sites or the reality show of televisions).
Interrogation over the time of the computer and the network: capture of a real space which deviend chopped and shifted by its numerical restitution on the Web... (capture 15 second-sending ftp - cooling 30 seconds...)

  • interrogation especially of its trace:
the webcam is located between 2 techniques
1 - the photograph (captures of an image)
2 - the cinema (répetition of this capture) the cinema capture approximately 24 images second: (near to our perception of reality)
does the photograph solidify this reality in an image
the webcam would not be it not a technique batard between the two?
however the computer is not this step which with digitized the image?
The artist starts the technical process and the computer takes the photograph thus...
the trace, the image of a webcam represents the image of today... the digital image creates either by the human eye but by the processor of a computer.
  • This trace for me is only one departure because these traces qualitée one clean: their pixels...
thus several directions in the process is offered to me:

  • the first is the presentation in its virtual medium:
    see
    http://perso.wanadoo.fr/christophe.desgouttes/webcam/thumbail2002/index.htm

  • and the second is the enlarging of the image (in 1m70 X 1m70) to affirm its quality and to leave virtual Buckling the process Reality, virtual, Reality.

  • The technique webcam thus offers multiple pallets of tools and interrogations for the artist.
It is a bond which links our world with that of the computer
