Artists M. River and T. Whid founded MTAA in 1996 as a collaborative platform for conceptual investigations of authorship and artistic intent. Their output includes several nihilistic "updates" of classic works of process art, using simple algorithms as labor-saving devices that undo the heroic character of an artist's repeated actions over a long period.
