This is nice–like a piece of found modernist sculpture. But absurd–popcorn is never observed as a single popped kernel in the commercial context, it’s always bouncing or spilling with other kernels. The 70s TV/shopping channel severity of the blue screen tops it off.

definitely tom! it is absurd, i can’t really imagine how a kernel could be used by itself (even keyed out)
my favorite part is the wire holding the piece of popcorn, and the awkwardness of the twirling — it makes it seem as though its some dude alone in a room video-taping a popcorn kernel all by himself (or at least thats my stock fantasy)
and also: it resembles an animated gif :)
