Having seen Welling’s work in NY at Jay Gorney and other places (and not having seen it for a while) I thought of him doing mostly black and white stuff like this:
So I had to google to realize he was now doing this:
Looking at Google images he’s all over the place but if these Adobe Illustrator-type floral silhouettes with color gradients are now his signature style this is not good. Good catch on the similarity.

I believe that these are photograms. And therefore fairly impressive in their technique.

Technique–bah humbug.
Just learned that Welling moved “up” to David Zwirner and thus has a solid NY presence. D’oh. I hope they sold a lot of those flowers.
