Also, Seecoy, I am really interested in the fact that the you chose to have the shove-it turn frontside (an obvious reference to Devine Calloway, Chris Roberts, etc….the so-called “New Chocolate”) and the trick being executed on a fiberglass skatepark quarterpipe (which I can only assume is simultaneously a reference to the newly embraced “creative transition skating” and an acknowledgment of its banality). Considering these two notions, combined with the keyboard replacing the skateboard, I can only imagine that this is meant to suggest that skateboarding will continue on its current path into eternity where it will be deemed meaningless via the death of the skate video (the murderer, of course, being the internet). Interesting. I’ll have to give this further thought before I can respond in an articulate way.

cab- It’s interesting that you would bring up Devine Calloway, as I was more quoting Daewon Song in his seminal work on assemblage with found picnic tables from the “Early Chocolate” phase- pre the so-called “New Chocolate” school. (interestingly we can only conjecture what Daewon was really trying to say as everything must be viewed as a secondary text mediated by the camera of S. Jonze + affiliates)
