optical illusions

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of research into left-brain/right-brain stuff, and have been modifying some internet-famous optical illusions. Click on the image above to load my video remix of this one.

ooooo, if you unfocus your eyes on that rainbow one, as if it was a magic-eye 3-d picture, it stops moving!

Have you seen the link that Claire found? The clockwise/counter-clockwise (depending) rotating animation?

i saw it clockwise first
then, after looking away for just a second it turned counterclockwise for a while
then back to clockwise

it’s really hard to concentrate and switch back and forth though.

haha. yeah, i’ve had the same experience. the first time i ever saw it i was sure that it was only spinning clockwise. now it mostly spins counterclockwise, but i can look away and look back and it will switch for a minute. but i can’t stare at it and make it happen… i’ve read that some people think staring at the feet helps, but the sort of peep-ovule mostly prevents that…

being able to stop and start it as a quicktime file helps.
and i’ve definately found something about the feet and unfocusing your eyes helps make the transition.

for me it all depends on where her leg starts off at when i see the video ex if her leg is on the right side she spins counter-clockwise and if i pause it and start it off whith her leg on the left side she spins clockwise
