Hey, everyone.. so recently I’m really into YouTube, & been doing some intense searching. I’m collecting videos of other people surfing the Internet, which I find to be strangely compelling. Actually, they’re all pretty boring and you’ll definitely be skipping around a lot if you watch them – recording yourself surfing the internet is always pretty damn pointless – yet some of them are eerily personal, their quietness… (?) I like the “over the shoulder” viewpoint. (BTW, I’d like to whine that rearranging the order of a YouTube playlist is really, really cumbersome..)
I’ve also been searching for some good video game video captures (like people playing Warcraft, etc.), but haven’t really found what I’d hoped would be out there. I really want to see just normal unedited stuff, with the original sound, and the players talking to eachother (kind of like the Leeeroy Jenkins video, but more mundane… everything I find is just dumb music videos and stuff like that..) (Any of you seen what I’m looking for?) Actually I did find this, which is really strange looking, using some kind of 3d face controls to make characters sing…
If you do a google search for Charlie Chan You will see that the google listing for the official MGM site for Charlie Chan says “MGM’s official site, which does little more than advertise some movies on video.”
Peter says that it is because this site has metadata and the official MGM site does not… Also, Peter noted that we could do this to most any other MGM page!!!
Respek!
I am glad that I checked you tube before I went to the grocery store to buy several boxes of pyramid tea bags.
a great wikipedia entry on pizza delivery
imdb page for pizza boy: he delivers
William Jones is an LA artist who has been an archivest for Larry Flint for years. Alot of his work is made from splicing together the narrative elements of 70s gay porns to create short-films. I was watching his video “All Male Mash Up” and saw a clip of “Pizza Boy: He Delivers”. I was very suprised to see the same exact logo of my neighborhood pizza place used on the porno-pizza delivery boy’s uniform, car roof sign, and pizza box.

Don’t ask, I just decided to combine Link’s infamous catchphrase from the 1989 Zelda American cartoon (NOT anime) into one clip. Although I was surprised how often he says it and there’s only 13 episodes in total!
Wow, Link was such a snotty little asshole in this show! I love all the different situations he’s in when he says it – my favorite is when he’s tied up by snakes. & the one where he’s invisible… via, link

This ultra-rare game is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen on an Atari 2600. The word “mangia” (pronounced mon’ ja) is an Italian word meaning “to eat”. This unusual game is set in a kitchen, where a mother is serving pasta to her kid. The characters are huge and detailed, but somewhat creepy-looking. Each time the mom returns to the table, she heaps more food on the kid’s plate. As the kid, your job is to dispose of the food – any way you can! Sure, you can eat it, but if you eat too much your stomach will expand and eventually explode. That’s right – the game actually depicts the poor kid’s stomach bursting into a pixilated mess! Can you believe it? I’m telling you, Mortal Kombat has nothing on Mangia! Anyhow, to prevent this gruesome tragedy for occurring, periodically toss some of the food to the cat in the window or the dog under the table. The problem is, these pets only appear intermittently, and you can only toss the food when mom’s back is turned. If caught, she’ll bring THREE helpings of food at a time, and too much food will break the table legs, costing you a life. Doesn’t this game sound like a twisted nightmare? It reminded me a bit of the movie Seven. The controls utilize the joystick only (no fire button), with Street Fighter-like joystick sweeps used to sling food. Sound effects include an irritating ring that blares whenever the cat appears. A nice Italian song is played between levels, but you’ll soon get sick of it. Mangia’s gameplay held my attention a while, but after you get the hang of it, it gets really long and repetitive. I’ll give the game credit for being original (and somewhat disturbing), but it’s more novelty than anything else.
(from The Video Game Critic’s Atari 2600 reviews… sounds pretty good to me)
